Descom Exercise Stage 2 : Exotics Redesign

These are the redesigns of the 3 exotics from reference, I did tuesday. I tried to play up the weird factor with the designs. And for the technique, I continued tuesday's trend in reducing the number of photoshop paths I'm using in exchange for painted details.

Descom Exercise - Exotics from Observation

I'm normally pretty OCD about paths, so my renderings, to date, normally have sort of a chunky, graphical feeling. But for these renderings, I dumped that, painting in photoshop - using paths strategically. The end results are some of the best renderings I've ever done.

Photo Hosting Fail

I started this blog to showcase more recent work that hasn't been incorporated into my portfolio. Just to clearify though, I'm not selectively preventing certain images from being enlarged - It's a photo hosting issue with Blogger that I haven't figured out yet.

Cadillac Project - Midterm Direction

Top to Bottom: A small mid-engined track toy for an enthusiast, a Smart-sized footprint 2 seater SUV for a Russian fashionista, lastly - a more entertainment design-oriented armored vehicle for a London diamond broker.

Descom Exercise - Canson Cadillacs

These are Cadillac designs using the technique and lighting from my Lamborghini Estoque rendering from earlier this week. They're still a little rough around the edges, and they'll be needing a little more love, but that's for another day...

Practicallity Fail

An all out rendering based on the sketch from my previous post. I'm kinda excited about this guy - but I have no clue how you'd get in.

The Old Fashioned Play Things are the Best!

These represent a cross section of my sketching for the week. I love doing old sku sketch renderings - they're such a pain, but completely worth the impression that you should be drafting in some dungeon studio at GM in the late 50's, while chain smoking like it doesn't give you cancer. Plus its a nice departure from the soullessness of the digital realm. The top render represents my most current direction for my Cadillac studio - something with a little entertainment design flavor.

Descom Exercise - Drawing Existing Vehicles Pt.2

2008 Ford Falcon FPV GT-E
Lamborghini Estoque Concept
2008 BMW M3 Coupe

For this round of vehicles from observation, we were to treat the rendering like canson - working only with white and black shading on a %50 color background.

Descom Exercise Stage 2 - Redesign 2 of 3

This is a from last week - just didn't post it. Will have a gaggle of new stuff up in the next 2 days. Yes, in the year 2030, evidently, Smart merged with Bugatti...

Descom Exercise Stage 2 - Redesign 1 of 3

In the year 2030, I decided that the Dacia Sandero somehow became a robot. Ya, a robot... Sweet.

Portfolio is Up & Out!

After 2 excruciating weeks, my Winter Quarter portfolio is up and out

Cadillac Project - Possible Direction

Just a rough sketch, but I think this might be where I'm going for my Cadillac project.

Chrysler Sponsored Studio - Summer 2008

This is the 2015 Chrysler Hollywood, a 4-door sports coupe I designed for our sponsored studio with Chrysler. The Hollywood is about visceral sex appeal - the type of car you'd want to be seen in.

Welcome

Welcome to my work space. I set up this blog to supplement my existing portfolio with up-to-date work and current projects, and to get feedback from the design community at large. Enjoy.
